Our Team

Priyanshi is a counsel at Singularity Legal. She holds an LL.M in International Law from the University of Cambridge. She has also passed the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE)- 1 of England and Wales (2024).
She represents clients in international disputes ranging from industry sectors such as energy, banking & finance, data & artificial intelligence, media & telecommunications, mining rights, and oil and gas; and international maritime boundary disputes.
Her range of experience includes advising clients in complex international commercial arbitrations under various rules like LCIA, MCIA and ad hoc arbitrations as well as in investor state disputes under ICSID, PCA and UNCITRAL. She has previously worked for a boutique public international law firm in London on a range of contentious disputes and non-contentious advisory proceedings.
Priyanshi’s research on the treatment of sovereign debt in investor state arbitration was awarded the Nappert Prize (second place) in 2022.

Arbitration
  • Representing an Indian mining company in an international commercial arbitration related to an offshore oil drilling project involving an Indian quasi-judicial authority (MCIA Rules, India seated).
  • Representing an Indian government regulator responsible for electricity distribution in a domestic commercial arbitration (Indian seated, Indian law).
Litigation
  • Representing two Indian companies in challenging unfavorable arbitral awards in commercial arbitrations (High Court of Bombay, Indian law).
  • Representing an Indian company in a marine insurance litigation (High Court of Bombay)
  • Representing several individuals in testamentary matters over the inheritance of property (High Court of Bombay).
  • Representing the Indian Naval Services in a limitation of liability case arising out of a collision of INS Vikramaditya with MV Nordlake (High Court of Bombay).
Advisory
  • Advising a diamond bourse, part of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses on pre-arbitration strategies and initial stages of commercial arbitration proceedings (High Court of Bombay).
  • Advising an individual investor against its investment advisors and fund managers respectively over a series of real estate-based investments (Securities and Exchange Board of India).
Investment Treaty Disputes
  • Representing the Government of the Republic of Croatia in a dispute arising from Swiss franc indexed housing loans arising under the Croatia-France BIT.
  • Representing a Russian mining entity in claims arising from a gold mining concession under the France-Russia BIT.
  • Advising the Arab Republic of Egypt in claims arising from the alleged expropriation of the claimant’s telecommunications licenses under the Egypt-Qatar BIT.
Public International Law
Contentious
  • Representing the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (through the anti-coup elected parliamentary committee, the CRPH) in evidential submissions before the United Nations.
  • Representing the Government of Barbados in its written submissions in advisory proceedings before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the International Court of Justice, concerning climate change.

  • Advising a regulatory agency of a Middle Eastern state on issues of data and artificial intelligence.
  • Advising a sovereign government in relation to the application of customary and conventional law concerning draft domestic legislation.
  • Advising a sovereign government in relation to a boundary dispute.
  • Advising a multinational corporation on international law issues arising from offshore oil drilling in a contested maritime zone pending issues of maritime boundary delimitation.
