Biography:
Prateek leads the practice at Singularity Legal. He specializes in providing guidance to companies in the energy, resources, construction, infrastructure, shipping, trade sectors, as well as institutional investors, dealing with shareholder disputes, joint venture disputes, operational conflicts, and sovereign disputes.
His range of experience includes advising clients in international arbitrations under various rules like ICC, SIAC, LCIA, ICDR, DIAC, FCC, LMAA, JAMS, CAS, and UNCITRAL and his expertise covers a wide range of international jurisdictions, including the Cayman Islands, India, Indonesia, Israel, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, Mauritius, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States, involving cross-border disputes, investment disputes, and tax treaty disputes.
Prateek also acts as a strategic counsel in cross-border investments, joint venture and trade deals. He has a passion for advising on law governing radical technologies and businesses. His key works include “Sports Arbitration in India” published in ‘Specialized Arbitrations – Emerging International Trends & Practices’ (Thomson Reuters, 2022), “Enforcement of awards annulled at the seat of arbitration” (IBA Committee’s ‘Arbitration News’), “Why India should adopt a foreign investment law and what it should contain” (TDM India Special Report) and “BIT Arbitration – What tax treaties can learn from past mistakes (The 4th Meeting of the Vienna multi-stakeholder group on Improving Cross-border Dispute Resolution)”. In addition, Prateek has launched Expert Talk, an initiative to provide continued digital education to professionals through freely accessible seminars, webinars and a digital library of blogs, alerts and insights on dispute resolution and litigation finance.
